ADVANTAGE BUSINESS/TAX SERVICE
Anything can be turned into a money earning venture as far as it has the capability of providing value for someone or a solution to a particular problem.
Whatever one cannot or does not want to do for themselves, which someone else help them accomplish, is capable of earning a person a living.
Thus a business can be defined in a layman's way, as anything that is legitimate or falls within the confines of the law of a particular area, capable of providing someone daily bread, as well as helping them provide their daily needs.
A business must be legitimate in order not to defeat the aim for which it is set up. This is because genuine businesses are setup to solve one's problems and not create one for the person. E.g., in some states in the U.S., marijuana is legalized while some other states it is still prohibited; as such people in the areas where it is legalized can lawfully engage in that as a form of business, whereas in the states where it has not been, anyone found dealing in them might be risking a jail term.
A business may involve commercial, industrial or professional activity. Be it buying, selling, production, trading, provision of any services etc.
A business is set up either for profit, in order to earn money; or non-profit, in order to provide a service or business activity e.g., a cooperative.
The United States of America, loves small businesses not only because they are the engine that drive the economy, but also for the reason that they are nearest to the people they serve. As such small businesses have direct community impact.
Whatever type of business one is involved in, the tips below can offer some form of help in growing small businesses:
1. For your small business, it is important to have a business road-map. Have it written down, what way you want the business to go. Outlining the goals you want the business to attain and details of how to achieve them. A business road-map is like a compass, it is like a building plan that helps give a definite direction to the business.
2. Whatever you do, always check and make sure your activities fall in line with your goals and plans.
Periodically, you have to do a kind of business review, and check how far or near you are to your goals.
Identify the problems militating against you achieving your goals and tackle them.
3. Identify the particular people that need your services or products and reach out to them. Do your utmost to satisfy and retain old customers, while at the same time reaching out to new potential customers, to continue increasing your customer base.
If you only concentrate on your old customer base, without working hard to reach out to new potential customers, when their number dwindles, it affects your business drastically.
Put in place a system that will help you, as some old customers drop along the way, new ones come in to replace them. If your clientele base is not increasing, the business is not growing.
4. Find a way to make what you offer your customers/clients different. Add more value to what you do. When people see what you do differently, when they see the uniqueness of what you have, they would always come back.
5. Be reliable. Don't fail your promises to deliver. Stick to your words, even when it happened to look as if, your promises would put you in a seemingly disadvantaged position, maintain it. When people see that you are reliable, they would always want your services or products.
6. Set a high standard and maintain it. Never lower your standard or be wonky in it, no matter the situation. People like getting value for their money, when they discover you have a standard you always stick to, they would always patronize you.
7. Run your business with zest. With excitement and vigor. Always ask yourself what is the next big thing in your business. If you are lackadaisical in your business, if you don't fall in love with what you do as a business, it would be hard to grow it.
Let your customers see that you are happy with what you do, they will see your confidence and stick to you.
Being moody or frowning when things are not going right would not help a business man. Always being cheerful, in high spirits, alert and focus would turn things around.
8. Always use creativity. Do not get tired of being creative or looking for creative ways to serve your customers or clients. People will always pay extra to creative people.
9. Be diligent in whatever you do, and remember again, to always tell people the truth.

11. Avoid habits that make you spend or waste money unnecessarily, like binge drinking, womanizing etc.

12. Have the mind to help people in some ways. Business is not solely all about making the money. It pays better to always be concerned about the quality of services or products you give to your customers, more than on the money you receive. Once people notice you are not always about the money, rather after their satisfaction, they would always patronize your small business.
